Pre & Post Procedure Care

Pre-procedure Care Instructions

Proper care before the procedure is essential in order for your brows to heal properly. The instructions below are designed to help minimize discomfort and bleeding, and promote optimal pigment retention. Please be aware you are likely to experience more discomfort during your menstrual cycle.

  • No alcohol at LEAST 24 hours before the procedure, and absolutely no alcohol the day of!

  • No caffeine at LEAST 24 hours before the procedure, and absolutely no caffeine the day of!

  • No exercise the day of the procedure. This increases your blood flow, which in turn increases bleeding, which will lead to poor pigment retention.

  • No tanning booths or excessive sun exposure 2 weeks prior.

  • No plucking, threading, waxing or tinting at least 1 week prior.

  • No Botox, Restylane, Kybella, Voluma, Juvederm, Sculptra, or other fillers for at least 4 weeks prior to your scheduled appointment. Failure to follow this can lead to uneven or misplaced brows.

  • No blood thinners 48 hours before the procedure. This includes Aspirin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Niacin, Fish Oil supplements and Vitamin E. – Tylenol is OK.

  • No skin care treatments 4 weeks prior to the procedure that include Vitamin A or Retinol. This includes lotions, creams, serums, Microdermabrasions, electrolysis, Retin A, Laser or Chemical peels, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or any treatments that promote skin brightening. Failure to comply will result in poor pigment retention or even scarred skin.

  • No Nutritional shakes or Hair/Skin/Nail supplements 48 hours prior

Post-procedure Care Instructions

Post-procedure care is just as important as pre-procedure care. We ask that you carefully follow the guidelines below for the first 10 days after your procedure. These steps help to ensure safe and timely healing that promote the best results. Failure to follow the instructions below can negatively impact healing and pigment retention.

  • Do NOT scratch, rub or pick at the treated area. Scabs should FALL OFF on their own during the first 7-10 days. If you pick the scabs off, you'll be taking the pigment with it!

  • Gently wash your brows 2x/daily using an unscented gel cleanser. Make sure you wash your hands with soap and water before touching the brow area. Remember, these are tiny incisions which must be kept clean to prevent infection and promote proper healing.

  • Once you wash your brows, pat dry with a clean tissue or paper towel

  • Using a Q-tip or facial pad, lightly tap witch hazel on to treated brow area following your wash. This will help minimize the risk of redness, inflammation, infection and itching.

  • NO tanning booths or excessive sun exposure for 4 weeks following procedure. Failure to comply with this can lead to premature fading, pigment color change, hyper-pigmentation or scarring.

  • NO Botox, Restylane, Kybella, Voluma, Jevederm, Sculptra or other fillers for at least 4 weeks after your treatment. Failure to follow this can lead to uneven brows.

  • No skin care treatments 4 weeks after the procedure that contain Vitamin A or Retinol. This includes lotions, creams, serums, Microdermabrasions, exeltrolysis, Retin A, Laser or Chemical Peels, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or any treatments that promote skin brightening.

  • NO submerging your face for the first 2 weeks. This includes the pool, ocean, steam room and hot showers.

  • Avoid skin care products, including makeup, on or directly around the treated area for the first 2 weeks.

  • DO use SPF when directly exposed to the sun after the first 2 weeks

  • Try to avoid contact with foreign objects during the healing process, this even means try not to sleep on your face/brows.
